Rockingham's Day out

So here we are on a beaut barmy winter's day in Middle Swan and a car full of kiddies, with the temperature in Armidale (NSW) at 3 and hitting 11 in Melbourne (VIC) what can this bunch of Sandgropers do over this side of Ozz. Well what about a day trip to the beach, we'll it is a nippy 21degrees (ha,ha,ha) and the sun's out so that was the decision we came to as we headed down the highway to the seaside town of Rockingham.
First we stopped for the kiddies to have a muck around at the swings at the Rockingham Oval, Here's the kiddies hanging out with some furry penguins (the best ones- the concert type) at the park. It's a beaut park and has a Anzac Memorial to the diggers and has a few old guns around ... which the kiddies found. Then back into the kiddy mover and a quick trip over to the other side of the town to the Rockingham Beach on the shores of Mangles Bay. Well it was a beaut day at the beach when we got their and the old section of park near the shops has heaps of old trees so their was no chance of getting sunburnt, beauty. The old section which is called Churchill Park has about eight different types of swings for the kiddies to play with, then you go into the newer section (Bell Park) which is out in the open and has about another six types of swings their, and if that isn't enough then you come to the Rockingham foreshore Park which goes for another four km's so their's heaps of things the kiddies to do during their time their.
After walking from swing to flamin' swing we finally had gone enough for the kiddies to be happy so then we cut threw the sandunes and walked to the beach. It's a real nice walk along the beach and as usual for the beaches over this side of Australia their was no waves. So after about a half hour walk back to the park we went in search for the one thing that we always love when at the beach... a fish n' chip shop. And no joke it was a bloody ripper, one of the best fish n' chips ive ever wrapped the old choppers around. So we just sat back munching away on the scrutinise tucker and had a squizz at the shark biscuits (surfers) trying to catch one of the one-miter waves, oh what a hard life.
But all beaut things have to come to an end and as the sun was going down over the ocean on this beaut barmy day we all crimbed into the holden and started our way back up the highway to sleepie old Middle Swan. Now winter has set back in and the days have gone down to a flamin' cold 17..... come on summer hurry back mate.
