Avon Descent

Well a little while back we took the tribe to the Avon Descent, for a layed back day in the sun having a squizz at some flamin' idiots in boats. Now for the readers who don't know about the Avon Descent it's a bunch of fit blokes n' sheilahs who have nothing better to do (they don't have kiddies then) on a weekend then paddling their canoes down the Avon river...FOR FUN!!! Fairdinkum I can think of much better things to do, like sitting on my arse watching them do it. Now the race starts from the Northam Weir and goes down the Avon river to the finish line at the Garratt road bridge, Bayswater Perth.
You have the choice of riding a 10HP Dinghy powerboat, 8HP or 6HP, and you can be either solo or with a mate. And if your one of the fruitlops who like paddling (give me a tinny any day mate) then you could either single or double Kayak, surf ski, team fours or Non-powered Sundries (whatever that is?).
So we went to the Sandalford Estate fun day and let the kiddies get their faces painted and have some beaut tucker and let them go on the bouncy Castle, over and over and over again. And the best thing was it was all FREE .... thanks to the Swan Valley ratepayers.
But it was a top barmy day out and the kiddies had a beaut time, and that night the little nevilles slept like a log (well slept like a bunch of logs....four logs to be exact) ...... You little beauty!
